Birthdays are always good

My wonderful sweet mom left these two darling pictures on my facebook wall yesterday for me!
I thought they were too cute not to share with you! :)

I had such a wonderful birthday, we went to Shipshawana to an auction and stopped in a couple little shops (that included a couple cheese and sausage shops too) My wonderful husband, Luke built me a very yummy cake! Then once we got all of our new treasures and goodies unloaded from the truck we had dinner, cake and ice cream and opened a few gifts :) I love my family so much and i'm so thankful for them.  Friday we're going to get together with the grandma's, my aunt, uncle, and cousins to have some cake and ice cream with them too :)

Hope everyone has a wonderful Labor day weekend!! :)

I can't wait to share with you some of my old new things with you!!
Happy Thursday!
Hubby is taking off tomorrow for a long weekend and we have many festivities planned!! Some much needed biking riding is in the agenda! LOL
Take care, thanks for stopping by!

Bow garland

Hi there lovelies!
I made this bow garland last week, I plan on putting it in my booth at Thodes,
hopefully by the end of this week. I thought it turned out cute.
I think I'm going to be making a few more to put up there as well.
Banners and garlands are so fun, you can put them anywhere! :) :)

I found these darling little buttons,
they are just awaiting for some sort of little project. Hmmmm....

Happy middle of the week {Wednesday}!!
A week from today is my birthday and I think we're going to the auction again, I'm so excited to see what kind of treasures we will be bringing home!!
Well I have to get outside and tend to the horses, enjoy your day!
Hugs, Holly

Roasted coffee Beans

The husband and I roasted another coffee this past weekend.
This one was called Sumatra. The description for it read: Deep brooding, bass-note profile, undertone of mildly earthly dark chocolate, mango/peach hint, moderate brightness, thick body.
Your probably thinking well that sounds ok....(that's what I thought) so I picked this one out from our little stash to try and we roasted them.  You're suppose to let the beans "rest" for about a day or over night after roasting, for those who are impatient and can't wait to try it the next morning always works too!
{It can have an effect how the coffee tastes though. In fact it might taste different from the first time you grind your beans to three days later}

So I made us some coffee the next morning.....and
I love this coffee!! I think its gotta be a favorite for me. Keep in mind there are sooooo many factors when roasting and even brewing these beans. If you are interested go to Sweet Maria's, and you will learn all sorts of new things about coffee!

It's pretty fun to get all sorts of different coffees from around the world and roast them yourself. It's hard to go back to drinking the stuff in the stores now. You can really taste a lot of flavors by doing this. My dad is the one that got all of us hooked on it, he's like a pro now! :) :)

DRINK COFFEE!!!

Have a wonderful day today!! :) :)

A cheerful day

Hi there!
Last week I found a wonderful easy tutorial to make a skirt,
over at Blondie Blu. She inspired me to attempt my very first one. In her tutorial she used a pillowcase and I didn't have any at the moment that I wanted to use for a skirt so I found this pretty fabric in my stash!  Let's just say I learned a few things on this one :) lol. I am wanting to make another, I might cut up some material from a vintage sheet for my next one. :)
For the pocket I used a dolie, on the outside of the skirt.

An instagram picture of my dad's tractors :)
On my walk out to the horses.

And another instagram pic of a bird bath my hubby got me :)
The birds seem to like splashing around in the little compartments.

I was oh so excited a couple of weeks ago when
I went to check the mail and found this very sweet box there!

So many cute vintage goodies inside :) :)
Thank you Erica!! From:: The Golden Egg Vintage
I just couldn't pass this Christmas lot up!

Hope you have a cheerful day!!

a red HOT find ...

My husband was so excited when finding this fire hydrant!
We got a pretty good deal on it, and he's oh so very excited to "redo" it!
These of course are the before pictures....

 Him working on it,
he's going to get all the rust off and wants to repaint it,
and make it shiny new again.

Some of the progress:: :)

Have you ever seen some painted before???
Here's a few pictures I found online, I'm not sure what we might do with ours, but he's excited!
I was more excited about my finds that day, but happy for him to get excited about something that he found, ya know :)
Booth these two photos: ^ \/ via Google images :)

So after seeing some neat images of what we could do, the possibilities are endless really, but I was actually thinking maybe one all painted up would look kinda neat in a flower bed with either matching, mismatching, or some  color coordinating flowers, and other decorations in there might look kind of neat!?!??

I hope you all have a wonderful day, wishing you with some creativeness!

Smiles, Holly
